How Westlane handles the small amount of personal data this site collects. Last updated July 2026.

This is a plain-language draft prepared for a software studio of this kind. It is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer, and fill in the bracketed details, before you rely on it.

1. Introduction

Westlane ("we", "our", or "us") values your privacy. This policy describes what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it. "Personal data" means information that, on its own or together with other information, can identify you.

Westlane is a software studio based in New Delhi, India. This is a marketing website: it has no accounts, no login, no payments, and no online store. So the amount of personal data involved is deliberately small, and this policy reflects that rather than describing collection we don't do.

2. Scope

This policy applies to this website. It does not apply to third-party websites we may link to — those are run independently and have their own privacy practices, which you should review. We're not responsible for the content or data practices of sites we link to.

3. What we collect

Information you give us. The only place this site actively collects personal data is the contact form: your name, your email address, your message, and the optional details you may add (company, project type, budget range, timeline, and how you found us). A hidden anti-spam field is also present, but it's ignored for real visitors and collects nothing about you.

Information collected automatically. Our web server keeps standard request logs — IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — for security and to keep the site running. This site does not use cookies, and it does not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics such as Google Analytics.

4. Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your contact-form submission for one purpose: to reply to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to scope and discuss the work. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Our lawful basis is your consent in choosing to contact us, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running a secure website. Server logs rest on that same legitimate interest in security and operation.

5. Cookies

This site does not set cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and, where required, we'll ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.

6. Who we share it with

Your enquiry reaches us by email, so it passes through our email and hosting providers, who process it only to deliver and store the message. Beyond those providers, we don't share the contents of your enquiry with anyone unless the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or social networks.

7. International transfer

We're based in India, and our email or hosting providers may process data on servers in other countries. Where your data crosses a border, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected consistently with this policy and applicable law.

8. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterward, in case you come back to us. Server logs are kept only as long as they're useful for security and diagnostics, then discarded. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.

9. How we keep it safe

The connection between your browser and this site is encrypted. We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect the data we hold, and we require providers who process it on our behalf to do the same. If a breach ever affects your data, we'll notify you and any regulator where the law requires it.

10. Children's privacy

This site is meant for adults enquiring about our services. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us their data, contact us and we'll remove it.

11. Your rights

You can ask us what personal data of yours we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it. Where you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We'll act on any such request, and we won't treat you differently for making one.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as India's data-protection law, the GDPR, or a US state privacy law. To exercise any right, email info@westlane.dev; we may need to confirm your identity first. This draft should be reviewed against the specific rules of India before you rely on it.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new date at the top.

13. Contact

To ask about this policy, or to access, correct, or delete your data, email info@westlane.dev, or write to us at [Westlane notice address, New Delhi, India].
